Abbreviations:
b/b = base born
illeg = illegitimate
P = poor
pb = privately baptised. Babies were privately baptised when they were considered to be sickly at birth and therefore unlikely to survive for long
RIC = Date child was received into the congregation. This relates to a child who had previously been privately baptised and survived – hence a second date. NB: other dates in the final column are those of birth
s/w = single woman
